Since the book came out, many of you have asked about discussion resources for small groups based on my book Superbia: The Perils of Pride. The Power of Humility.

I’m pleased to announce that a 6-week study guide is now available—completely free—designed specifically for small groups courageous enough to dig deeper into these themes.

The guide includes discussion questions to help recognize pride’s patterns in ourselves, not just diagnose it in others. Topics covered include intellectual pride, spiritual pride, pride of identity, and the practices and power of genuine humility.

Also New: A Substack Focused on Pride and Humility

I’ve also started a Substack dedicated specifically to pride, humility, and Christian thinking—the core themes from Superbia. This is separate from The Soggy Spaniel blog (which will continue to cover the full range of apologetics, science/faith, and whatever else inspires me).

The Substack allows me to focus more narrowly on these particular issues and build community around the book’s message. My latest post, “The Psychology of Wokeness: Why both sides are more alike than they think,” examines how contemporary culture reveals ancient patterns of pride.

If that focus interests you, you can subscribe here.

No pressure to subscribe to both—I’ll continue writing on all the usual topics here at the Spaniel. But if pride and humility are topics you’d like to explore more deeply, the Substack might be a good fit.

A Request:

If you’re a pastor, missionary, small group leader, or know someone who might benefit from the study guide, I’d be grateful if you’d share this post or the Substack. My hope is to help Christians recognize and address the pride that usually goes unrecognized—even when we’re checking all the “Christian” boxes. Thanks for reading, and for your continued engagement with these ideas.
